Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches
This course, delivered by a native English speaker (Irish nationality), will be through English. The course will be enquiry based, and a mixture of presentation methods will be used. Students will be involved in group work, and will plan creative teaching units. Students must bring bring a wireless-enabled laptop or tablet, or be online!The focus will be upon Grades 9/10 and 11-13 in RLP; Bilingual teaching methodologies; differentiation in the classroom; planning for teaching; books and resources; formative and summative assessments, both written and oral; setting criteria; presenting and creating teaching plans and drafts. The role of classroom management skills, differentiated teaching, thinking skills, developing enduring understandings and creating open questions will all be central to the course.
Students will complete a full draft of a teaching unit as the final summative assessment Klausur. An excursion to an English teaching school will be planned if possible.
There is a distinct possibility that the course will be delivered uing a digital approach. If so, the course content, assignments and tests will all be in the Mainz LMS/Moodle.
For verbal/visual communication, we will use the Big Blue Button module within Moodle. It is simple, straightforward, and does all we need.
The procedure will be as simple as possible. On Mondays, at 12:15 we will 'meet' via BBB, sharing the content via LMS/Moodle.

Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme an Übung II ist der erfolgreiche Besuch der Übung I; die Übungen bauen aufeinander auf.
